Pearl Jam Dark Matter Tour

Pearl Jam Dark Matter tour hits the UK this week and I was lucky enough to review it on Tuesday when they came to play Co-Op Live in manchester. The support band on this tour was called The Murder Capital post punk rock band from Dublin.

If you have been to a Pearl Jam concert before you are aware that they don’t have a set list in place and play as they go. But Manchester got lucky with hits live Alive and Black we also got some other surprise of Pearl Jam’s most known album Ten.

Despite Eddie Vedder battling his way through with a nasty cold, it still sounded fantastic. Mike McCready on guitar has so much energy running around on stage for two hours without a break was outstanding. Same goes to Matt Cameron on drums, not stopping for two hours is just insane.

It was also nice to hear little less known tracks like ‘Of The Girl’ ‘All Night’ ‘I Got ID’ and a few from Gigaton and Dark Matter. And ‘Fuckin Up’ a Neil Young Cover.

Secondly it was my first visit to Co - Op Live Manchester it was an outstanding production from the venue and the band. The video effects have to be one of the best I’ve seen in a while. The sound quality was amazing also.

Overall this comeback show from Pearl Jam as it’s been 32 years since they last played Manchester was definitely worth the wait as the band were stronger than ever and Eddie still sounds the exact same as he did all those years ago.
