Performance Review: Mr. Big are Big in Dallas!

The second night of Mr. Big’s "The Big Finish" tour featuring, Eric Martin on vocals, Paul Gilbert on guitar, Billy Sheehan on bass, and Nick D'Virgilio joining on drums, delivered an unforgettable performance that left the audience in awe. The final tour for this iconic band showcased their musical prowess, blending classic hits, covers, and a few surprises.


The band's lineup, with Billy Sheehan from Tale and UFO, along with Nick D'Virgilio known for his contributions to Spock's Beard and Big Big Train, created a dynamic rhythmic synergy. This unique collaboration added depth and energy to the performance, making it a special experience for fans, especially those attending to witness Nick D'Virgilio, who has an impressive background including his contribution to the final Genesis album, noted by audience members attired in that band’s shirts.


The setlist was a journey through the band's discography, featuring hit "To Be With You" as well as covers of hits by Cat Stevens, The Who, and Humble Pie. The rendition of "Good Lovin'" stood out as a highlight, showcasing the band's versatility as each member switched instruments, displaying their multi-instrumental talents. Billy on vocals, Paul on drums, Eric on bass, and Nick on guitar brought a refreshing twist to the classic track originally by The Olympics.


The audience, consisting of a diverse mix of fans from the 80s and followers of each member's musical endeavors, thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the show. Despite the frigid January night in Dallas, with temperatures below freezing, the warmth of the performance kept spirits high.


The band's tight-knit chemistry, contributed to a night filled with nostalgia, energy, and musical excellence. From the electrifying guitar solos to Eric Martin's powerful vocals, each member showcased their musical mastery, leaving the crowd cheering for more.
