This Wild Life gets the audience pumped up at Toyota Music Factory on July 27th

On July 27th, the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas was graced with the captivating performance of This Wild Life, an acoustic rock duo hailing from the shores of Long Beach, California. The energetic Kevin Jordan is on vocals and guitar, and Anthony Del Grosso on guitar, the duo delivered a night of melodic charm, setting the stage for the headliner Yellowcard.

Kicking off the evening with "No More Waiting," This Wild Life instantly established a connection with the early arriving audience. Being a duo in such a large venue, This Wild Life found ways to connect their acoustic sound with the audience which is a challenge for any artist. This Wild Life stepped up and succeeded!

As the set continued, the crowd swayed along to the mellow vibes of "Catie Rae," and the venue filled with nostalgic emotions during their rendition of John Denver's timeless hit, "Country Roads, Take Me Home." The duo's unique interpretation of the classic brought a fresh perspective to the beloved song, and it was met with resounding applause.

One of the highlights of the night was undoubtedly when Kevin Jordan decided to amp up the energy with an unexpected twist during "If It's Cool With You I'm Cool Being Through." Before the song's breakdown, he surprised the audience with some impromptu calisthenics, getting everyone riled up and energized. This unexpected burst of physicality added an engaging element to their performance, and the crowd responded with enthusiasm, showing their appreciation for the extra effort put into the show.

Other notable tracks in the setlist included "I Miss You" and "Headfirst," both of which further showcased the band's ability to craft emotionally charged songs that leave a lasting impact on listeners.

As the first of three opening acts for Yellowcard, This Wild Life truly set the bar high for the rest of the evening. Their intimate acoustic performance brought an air of authenticity to the stage, allowing the audience to immerse themselves fully in the music. Their connection with the crowd was evident, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance that made everyone feel like a part of the performance.

I’m confident the next time they come through the North Texas area they will be higher on the bill or even headlining their own shows in some of Dallas’s more intimate venues. Wherever they perform it will be a treat for any audience.
